Contemporary Warm Art Glass Courses
Prospectus

I am pleased to be able to offer glass working courses, for 3 students, from beginner to advanced level. At a ratio of 3 students to 1 instructor, students will benefit from a high individual attention level.

It is intended that the main emphasis will be on kiln formed glass art, but if students prefer to develop their skills in the areas of leaded glass panels, painting or copper foil (Tiffany style), or a mixture of any or all, then this can be accommodated

Location : In the studio at the above address

Course Duration: 11 weeks at 3 hours per week, Tuesdays 9.30 to 12.30

Cost: £110 if paid in advance or £11 per day, if paid on a daily basis (total £121)

Use of tools is included in the cost of the course.

For beginners, the first 3 weeks work will be using relatively inexpensive 3mm float glass. This is included in the cost of the course.

Once basic instruction using float is complete and competence achieved, students are embarking upon their own projects they will need to purchase the materials they use, in sufficient quantities to enable completion.

This will have 2 effects.respect for the material & ensuring that I don't run at a loss!

Projects which require kiln firing are charged at £1 per firing. Many projects require no more than 2 firings.

The Course

Able to start at any level, I aim to teach and guide students to achieve skills for life and to design and produce quality artwork which they can take away and enjoy.

In addition the course is intended to be enjoyable

To facilitate this I can provide the very best selection of art glasses and materials from around the world. The only limit is your skill and imagination.

Each week, projects which require firing will be fired in the kiln, ready for the next session.

The work of each student will be fired individually, if necessary, at the correct & appropriate process time and temperature .

Projects which require different processes to achieve the desired result will not be mixed in the kiln.
