High Beckside

High Beckside Hartsop Patterdale

Sleeps up to 7 people

This delightful 17 th Century cottage in the peaceful conservation village of Hartsop has beautiful southerly views of Hartsop Dodd and Dovedale and is ideally situated for walking onto the fells. Gardens surround with a stream tumbling by at the bottom of the garden which is well fenced. The garden has wild areas, bursting with snowdrops and daffodils in the spring, areas of cut grass, shrubs and plenty of space for barbecues and picnics, there's a picnic table in the old orchard. Birdlife is abundant and badgers often visit the garden on a summer's evening.

The many character features in the living room include a spice cupboard with adjacent fire window, an open fire, old beams and thick stone walls. An adjoining wool loft, which once had a spinning gallery outside, is accessible by stone steps and offers additional sleeping for two with open beamed ceiling, magnificent views and an en-suite shower room

This a very traditional cosy and comfortable farmhouse. Personal touches reflect the owners interest in the countryside local herdwick rugs and throws are throughout the house, depicting the colour's of the landscape. Original paintings and prints by local artists hang in the house.
